You’re One of a Kind.
So Are We.

School One is a progressive, private high school in Rhode Island where students from many different backgrounds come together in a supportive community. Since 1973, School One students have pursued meaningful questions through interdisciplinary coursework and sophisticated arts instruction. Never “one-size-fits-all,” School One’s approach builds on each student’s strengths and interests. Our graduates go on to top-ranked colleges, art schools, and most importantly, go on to lead lives of caring and compassion.

WELCOME
“School One is a rare blend of rigorous, non-competitive, and supportive. Our small classes are similar to college seminars — filled with student voices, debate, and meaningful questions about the world.”

School One's flexible environment is well suited to accommodate International students and students with mild to moderate special education needs.

School One does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.
