Though Naz has lived around the corner for quite some time, it took him a while to find School One. He was attending another private school in the area and when his mom suggested they look at School One, he jumped at the chance for something different.

Bill Wu is a School One student who hails from China. Before coming to the U.S., Bill knew that art was his thing. At School One, he fell in love with the variety and freedom he found in the course catalog and immersed himself in photography.

During her time at School One, Clare Tyler, was an intern at the RI Commission for Human Rights, where she conducted legal research and participated in discussions about current discrimination cases.

Last month, School One held its annual fundraiser, Scholar Dollars, a festive event that raised over $56,000 for financial aid for students.

School One has long been known for its innovative curriculum, strong sense of community and diverse student body, but it’s also known for the arts. Creativity is central to our mission and art is integrated into many academic subjects here.

The Providence Art Club was a fitting venue to celebrate of our Head of School, Jennifer Borman. Over the past ten years, she has strengthened School One’s dynamic arts program and nurtured its strong sense of community for students, families and faculty.
