Elia Gurna is an artist, a youth worker and a mother. She has worked in youth programs and education for over 20 years in both the United States and Europe. She previously served as the Executive Director of New Urban Arts, a nationally-recognized community arts studio for high school students and emerging artists. Elia’s work has been included in exhibitions in New York City, Beacon, NY and Philadelphia, as well as the Queens Museum of Art. She is a Theater of the Oppressed Laboratory facilitator and a permaculturist. Elia lives and works in East Providence. Elia teaches art history and drawing at School One.
